Art and culture in unusual places: This is what the AM.Puls experience art night aims for. Six musicians design a performance just for Amberg. The TOPOS KOLEKTIV focuses on versatile and extraordinary improvisational art. Each of their “concerts” is a unique and amazing piece of art created on the spot by the entire ensemble. NEN is a band comprised of two musicians and a musician-dancer. The unique instrumentation definitely makes you sit up and take notice: Ania Losinger plays and dances on an electro-acoustic sound body called Xala III. Wearing flamenco shoes and using long wooden poles, she punches concise grooves out of her raft-like instrument. Next to the Xala III is a six-string electric bass, played by Swedish master bassist Björn Meyer. From the depths of his instrument, he soars to spherical heights or kneads the bass until your peritoneum begins to vibrate. Docked to the side, between a Fender Rhodes and a xylophone, Mats Eser steers the band confidently through the tides of layered cycles and interlocking rhythms. The multi-instrumentalist virtuously combines acoustic with electronic sounds and thus defines the musical scene. Anyone who experiences a concert by this band gets caught up in the typical NEN maelstrom, from which there is no escape. A challenge – with happy consequences!
